Top Features
- Powerful Bladeless Mixing
- Intuitive user interface
- Compatible with a large variety of cups and accessories
Dual Asymmetrical Centrifugal (DAC) mixing – A closed disposable container is rotated around a primary axis. The container is simultaneously counterrotated around on its own Y axis, creating a powerful mixing vortex. This result is fast, homogeneous, repeatable mixing and bubble removal.
The machine’s touchscreen display makes it easy to set, save, and lock programs. This ensures that precisely optimized methods can be accurately and repeatably reproduced. With minimal training, any operator can achieve exactly the same results.
Cup volume, shape, and material are crucial variables when optimizing a mixing process. The cup should ideally be at least twice the volume of the material being mixed to achieve the best flow characteristics. The Hauschild SpeedMixer® benchtop series is compatible with a full range of containers from <10ml to 500ml, as well as hundreds of specialty accessories for milling, syringe filling, deairing and more.

Case Study
Enhancing Lithium Ion Battery Materials Research through Advanced Mixing Technology
The Only SpeedMixer you will ever need.
This laboratory faced the same challenges as many others in the industry due to the conventional mixing they had been using:
- Inadequate Dispersion and Deagglomeration: Lower energy methods like stir bars were unable to effectively disperse and deagglomerate the material, hampering the achievement of optimal material properties. The mortar and pestle sometimes worked well but was very inconsistent from operator to operator.
- Material Consumption: Ball milling worked well but required larger quantities of expensive materials, which limited the laboratory’s ability to conduct experiments on a smaller scale.
- Entrapped Air Bubbles: Most of the processes they had tried inherently entrained air which resulted in the presence of bubbles, leading to defects during the subsequent coating process.
- Unsafe operating conditions: Roll mills had been considered but were ultimately deemed too unsafe for use in their lab.
To address the air bubble issue, the company adopted an automated mixing and degassing process using the Hauschild SpeedMixer®. This technology ensured a standardized and homogenous mix of the 2-part epoxy, regardless of the operator. The Vacuum SpeedMixer was then utilized degas the epoxy directly within the dispensing syringes. By removing all bubbles, dissolved air, and moisture/volatile content from the material within the syringes, they were able to completely prevent bubble formation during the heat curing process.
The laboratory’s breakthrough came when they adopted the Hauschild SpeedMixer® DAC 150.3 SP, a state-of-the-art mixing device. This advanced technology provided a range of benefits that addressed the laboratory’s specific challenges:
- Efficient Dispersion and Deagglomeration: The Hauschild SpeedMixer® DAC 150.3 SP proved highly effective in breaking down agglomerates, resulting in a superior dispersion. This improved dispersion contributed to achieving the desired material properties consistently.
- Reduced Material Consumption: The ability to mix in small sample containers allowed the laboratory to work with smaller quantities of expensive materials, offering significant cost savings and the ability to conduct more experiments on a more manageable scale.
- Bubble Elimination: Unlike conventional methods, the Hauschild SpeedMixer® facilitated a bubble-free mixing process. This feature proved crucial in eliminating defects during the subsequent coating process, ensuring higher-quality battery materials.
- Safety: Mixing in a closed cup with no cleaning required helped protect students from potentially hazardous materials. It had the added benefit of protecting the materials from ambient air. Because the Hauschild SpeedMixer® is a closed system that will only run when the enclosure is locked, it also eliminated all mechanical hazards.

Secondary features and benefits - value
Best in class performance, reliability, and value
Since inventing the technology in 1974, the team at Hauschild have been engineering and manufacturing with a focus on quality, performance, safety, and reliability. Hauschild SpeedMixer® equipment is known for being the most powerful, versatile, and safe lab mixer / specialty production mixer available. It is also one of the few planetary centrifugal mixers that has been proven in the field to last for decades with minimal maintenance.
Saves time & material – Protects the workforce
The Hauschild SpeedMixer® mixes quickly and is compatible with a variety of single use mixing cups. This saves time associated with mixing, as well as time, solvents, and other materials associated with cleanup. Unlike blade mixers, DAC mixers offer the ability to size batches/mixing containers based on what is needed for testing. This eliminates significant material waste.
Conventional mixing equipment & methods present several hazards to the workforce such as exposure to material, exposure to cleaning solvents / solvent vapors, and risk of repetitive strain injury (RSI). An automated mixing process utilizing Hauschild SpeedMixer® equipment, along with proper PPE and material handling practices, protect the operator from these sources of danger and can help reduce the rick of a Lost Time Injury (LTI).

Numerous Options
Depending on the mixing weight and feeling volume different cups are available for your Hauschild SpeedMixer®. All mixing cups can be used as disposable items. Hot child offers jars in several colors, beside transparent, white and black, which is suitable for photo sensitive material. The most used jars are made of polypropylene (PP) due to its high resistance to the temperature and the low chemical reactivity. Dimensions of the cups and buckets go from few ml to up to 16l of normal capacity.
- PP 10, 15, 30, 50, 100, 150
- Max 40, 60, 100, 200
- Stainless Steel 30
